PR1/MATHIASEN MOTORSPORTS NO. 52 LOOKING TO HAVE A STRONG RESULT AT THE LEXUS GRAND PRIX OF MID OHIO

May 13, 2022, Lexington, Ohio .- After a bittersweet weekend at the WeatherTech Laguna Seca Raceway, the PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports No. 52 ORECA LMP2 07 entry of Patrick Kelly and Josh Pierson will make its initial appearance in America’s heartland with this weekend’s Lexus Grand Prix at Mid-Ohio.

Last time PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports visited the sinuous 2.258-mile, 13-turn Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, was in May 2019 when they won the race with drivers Mathew McMurry and Eric Lux in the LMP2 category.

 Patrick Kelly, Driver.

“I’m excited to be back with my close friends at PR1! I can’t wait to kick off the weekend and look to continue the strong pace we showed at Laguna!”

 Josh Pierson, Driver.
“Looking forward to Mid-Ohio. Excited to see what we can do this weekend as a team, after all the learnings of Laguna Seca. It’ll be tough competing with the gold and platinum drivers, but I’m excited to give it a go!”

 Ray Mathiasen, Team Owner.
"Unfortunately I will  not be able to attend the race at Mid Ohio. I'll definitely miss being there with the team.  am confident both the No. 11 and the No. 52 will do well. I think we learned a lot as team at Laguna Seca."

The Lexus Grand Prix at Mid-Ohio action begins with practice 1 on Friday afternoon and practice 2 Saturday morning. Qualifying will take place Saturday at 2:05 P.M. EDT. At 2:10 P.M. EDT on Sunday, May 15th, PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports will compete alongside thirty-four entries for two hours and forty minutes to see who will be king of the 2.4-mile circuit.
