PR1 MATHIASEN MOTORSPORTS NO. 11 LOOKING TO HAVE A STRONG RESULT AT HOME RACE THIS WEEKEND

April 25, 2022 – Monterey, California – PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports No. 11 ORECA LMP2 07, is ready to fight at the Hyundai Monterey Sports Car Championship Presented by Motul at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca with drivers Steven Thomas and Jonathan Bomarito this weekend.

Thomas and Bomarito will codrive the No. 11 LMP2 entry for the sprint races of the IMSA WeatherTech Championship events, starting with this weekend’s Hyundai Monterey Sports Car Championship Presented by Motul at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, then the Lexus Grand Prix at Mid-Ohio in May 13-15th, and lastly the IMSA Sportscar Weekend at Road America in August 4-7th.

 “I am really looking forward to the upcoming race at Laguna Seca,” says Jonathan Bomarito. “Monterey is my hometown and it's always such a special event to share with family and friends. It's the first sprint race of the year for the LMP2 class and I'm feeling very confident in the 11 cars chances!” Bomarito finalizes.

“The whole team along with Steven and Jonathan are very hungry for a great result coming into Laguna,” adds Team Principal, Bobby Oergel. “We are looking forward to a great home race!” Oergel concludes.

The Hyundai Monterey Sports Car Championship action begins practices on Friday afternoon, April 29 and Saturday morning, April 30, ahead of qualifying at 3:45 p.m. ET April 30 (livestream on IMSA.com/TVLive). The race airs live at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 1 on NBC.
