Wednesday, September 21, 2016 – Fresno, CA –After a dominant early race run, PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports finished P2 in class in Saturday’s Lone Star Le Mans at Circuit of the Americas.
On Friday, driver Robert Alon put the car on pole with a fast lap of 2:01.847.
When the green flag flew for Saturday’s race, Alon took off and never looked back, taking a commanding lead and opening a large gap to the next position in class.
PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Carries Winning Drive to Lone Star Le Mans
Wednesday, September 14, 2016 – Fresno, CA –After their win at Road America just over a month ago, the PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports team is taking their winning momentum to Austin, TX for the Lone Star Le Mans at the Circuit of the Americas on Saturday, September 17.
Drivers Robert Alon and Tom Kimber-Smith currently sit second in the PC points championship behind Starworks Motorsports drivers Alex Popow and Renger van der Zande. However, after their win at Road America, Alon and Kimber-Smith are only behind by seven points. With only two races remaining, Alon and Kimber-Smith have their sights set on a podium finish and closing in on the championship.

Tuesday, August 9, 2016 – Fresno, CA – After a third place finish at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park two races ago, and a second place finish at Lime Rock Park, PR1 drivers Robert Alon and Tom Kimber-Smith took the checkered flag at the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase at Road America and climbed to the top step of the podium over the weekend.
Both Alon and Kimber-Smith showed impressive times throughout the weekend finishing in the top five at all of the practice sessions. Alon, who qualified the car for Sunday’s race, qualified P4 but was able to make his way to the front of the pack after only a few race laps on Sunday.

Thursday, August 4, 2016 – Fresno, CA – Coming off of their sixth podium finish of the season, PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports drivers Robert Alon and Tom Kimber-Smith are looking forward to continuing their podium streak at round 9 of the WeatherTech sports car championship this weekend at the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase at Road America.
With only three prototype challenge races remaining, both Kimber-Smith and Alon have set their sights to finish as best as possible as the event could play a major role in the eventual championship. Tuesday, July 12, 2016 – Fresno, CA – With less than a week between the Sahlen’s 6 Hours of the Glen and the Mobil 1 Sports Car Grand Prix, the entire IMSA Weathertech paddock had a huge job to get their teams and equipment packed up and on the road from New York and set up again in Bowmanville, Ontario only four days later. With such a quick turnaround, the teams had a limited amount of time to get the cars set up and ready to go for the first sessions on Friday, but the PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports team and drivers proved to be more than ready for the Canadian circuit.

Thursday, July 7, 2016 – Fresno, CA – After a disappointing finish at the Sahlen’s 6 Hours of the Glen, the PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports team is ready to move past the New York race and travel north of the border to the Mobil 1 Sports Car Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
The weekend at Watkins Glen started out promising, with Robert Alon qualifying the car in second position for Sunday’s race. But when the green flag dropped on Sunday, the team quickly realized they had an electrical problem and had to make several pit stops to be able to stay in the race. The trio of Alon, Jose Gutierrez and Tom Kimber-Smith did cross the finish line at the end of six hours but were unfortunately several laps down.

PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports endured a treacherous run at the 64th Annual Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring on Saturday. The day started under sunny skies and beautiful south Florida weather, but by the two-hour mark of the race, the forecasted rain made its way to the track, and so did the lightning. The race was red-flagged for the fifth time in 64 years for two hours and fifteen minutes.

After completing a successful two-day test there in February, both the team and drivers are ready to get back on track for the 64th running of the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring.
For teammates Robert Alon and Tom Kimber-Smith, Sebring is a track that they both have visited multiple times, but for teammate Jose Gutierrez, the Sebring Test marked the first opportunity for him to turn laps at famed course.

Thursday, February 4, 2016 – Fresno, CA – After 24 hours of racing at the most iconic race in North America, the No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports team finished second in the Prototype Challenge class at the first race of the WeatherTech Sportscar Championshp – The Rolex 24 at Daytona.
The team started the twice around the clock race at the back of the class after electing not to qualify in the rain and risk damaging the car, but after a few short green flag laps, Tom Kimber-Smith had their PC machine in P1. Daytona rookies Robert Alon, Nick Boulle and Jose Gutierrez, all completed flawless stints and were able to extend their lead over the other competitors.
